“Thousands of tired, nerve-shaken, over-civilized people are beginning to find out that going to the mountains is going home; that wildness is a necessity; and that mountain parks and reservations are useful not only as fountains of timber and irrigating rivers, but as fountains of life.” - John Muir, Our National Parks
As long as the natural landscapes of the United States have been the lifeblood of our nation, they have been under threat from shifting laws and energy exploration. In February 2015, four young explorers will embark on a 9,000 mile unsupported cycling journey from the southernmost to the northernmost points of the United States reachable by road to help preserve America’s natural beauty. Our crew of filmmakers, artists, and writers will collaborate to produce a documentary and a novel about the country’s wild places and the people that are taking action to protect them. From Keys to Freeze a story of adventure is waiting to be told.
